How to bring Playtronica into classrooms and workshops.
Playtronica began in workshops. The first session was a music teacher letting children make sound from fruit and vegetables. Twelve years later, our devices are in classrooms, special education programmes, and university labs in more than 40 countries.
Why Playtronica works in classrooms
- No prior knowledge needed. Any student of any age can make a sound within 30 seconds.
- Bridges subjects. A single activity connects music, science (electricity, biology), and art.
- Inclusive and SEND-friendly. Touch-based interaction works for students who cannot use traditional instruments.
- Endless variation. Sessions feel different every time because the "instruments" — plants, fruit, and objects — change.
Which device for which age?

Safety
All Playtronica devices run on 5 V USB power — the same voltage as a phone charger. The electrical currents involved are far below any threshold of harm. Playtronica devices have been used safely in classrooms with children from age 4 for more than 10 years.
⚠️ Pacemakers and other implanted medical devices. Capacitive sensing and electromagnetic signals can interfere with implanted medical devices. Students or visitors with pacemakers or similar implants should not use Playtronica devices. See Safety and health information for the full rules.
