📦What is in the box?

What you find inside the box, and what each piece does.


Do I need a cable? TouchMe, Playtron, and Orbita ship with the USB cable you need — open the box, plug it in, go. Biotron and Scales do not include a USB cable — you provide a USB-C data cable that matches your computer.

Every Playtronica device ships in a small cardboard box with the parts the device needs and a quick-start card. No power adapter is included — every device is powered through USB. The cable depends on the device — see below.

You will need a computer with Brave or Chrome installed to use any Playtronica device with the browser synth.

👐 TouchMe

  • TouchMe device — the main PCB with two touch-sensitive gold pads.
  • USB cable — for connecting to your computer.
  • Quick-start card.

🍉 Playtron

  • Playtron device — the main PCB with 16 alligator-clip pins and a gold ground pin.
  • USB cable.
  • Alligator-clip cables — usually 8 in the box.
  • Quick-start card.

🌿 Biotron

  • Biotron device — the main PCB with a built-in light sensor.
  • Two leaf-pad probes on cables — for clipping to plant leaves or branches.
  • Quick-start card.

ℹ️ A USB cable is not included. You will need a USB cable that matches Biotron's port and your computer.

🌀 Orbita

  • Orbita device — the main PCB with a rotating ring, central encoder, and side buttons.
  • USB cable.
  • Set of coloured magnets — for placing on the four tracks.
  • Quick-start card.

⚖️ Scales

  • Scales device — the main PCB with a weight plate and three buttons.
  • TRS MIDI cable (sometimes included) — for connecting to a hardware synth.
  • Quick-start card.

ℹ️ A USB cable is not included. You will need a USB cable that matches Scales' port and your computer.

Something missing?

Email support@playtronica.com with the subject Missing item #[order number] and a photo of what arrived. We will send a replacement.

Ask the community

🤝 Other Playtronica users have probably hit this before. The Playtronica Friends Facebook group has 4,400 members and is the fastest source of creative and technical help. Search the group's history first (use the magnifying glass at the top — try playtron mobile no sound, all leds lit, touchme biotron no sound, koala sampler midi, or whatever fits your problem). If your question is not already answered, post a new one with a [Device] prefix in the title. See the community page for what to ask there and what to email instead.
